My bodywork education began at the MUSCULAR THERAPY INSTITUTE in Cambridge, Mass., where I learned the Benjamin System of Muscular Therapy - a combination of DEEP TISSUE and SPORTS techniques aimed at evaluating and undoing dysfunctions in the body. Through continuing education, working alongside doctors, physical therapists, and chiropractors, I continue to enhance my ability in treating injury and promoting the body's own ability to heal. This is achieved through specific CROSS-FRICTIONING of damaged tissues, MYOFASCIAL RELEASE, and de-activation of trigger points using NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY, as well as ACTIVE and PASSIVE stretching. Soon we will be offering personal Corrective Exercise Training to address muscle imbalances that result in injury. Before studying massage therapy I worked for seven years as a business journalist and editor, with a degree in Political Science from Ursinus College in eastern Pennsylvania. I am a fully licensed massage therapist (LMT), corrective exercise specialist (CES) and insured as a member of the AMERICAN MASSAGE THERAPY ASSOCIATION. (AMTA).
