Complementary Healthcare Services

Wellness is seldom a one-stop shopping experience! We recommend some of the following complementary services and modalities. You may find some approaches work better than others for you, and the same can be said for practitioners, so we're listing several of our favorites in each category

  • Physical Therapy

This modality helps patients heal and stave off further injury through specific exercise, stretches, soft tissue work, and advanced assessment skills. At least half of our clients use massage and physical therapy in conjunction with each other.

I have had amazing success at ATI Physical Therapy in Downtown Crossing in healing my own rotator cuff injuries and knee pain from running. They are attentive, skilled, and welcoming. If you've had a bad experience with "meathead" PTs, ATI is a breath of fresh air.

In the South End you can check out Jaxie Meth at The Method Performance and Physical Therapy. She’s a great choice for high-functioning athletes and has a strong workout ethic.

Brian Barkwell at Barkwell Physical Therapy takes PT to the next step in terms of personal attentativeness. He's the sole proprietor and practitioner.

  • Chiropractic Care

Chiropractors work to bring the body back into its natural alignment through spinal manipulation, neuromuscular retraining, and other soft tissue approaches. They differ vastly in their approaches but almost always work hand-in-glove with massage therapy. Some specialize in "light touch" manipulation for people squeamish about the "whack'n'crack."

Some of our favorite chiropractors are Mike Santipadri of High Touch Chiropractic (next door to our office) and Jonathan Melman, both in Copley Square.

  • Personal Training

Strength and balance are the keys to keeping your injuries at bay and offsetting the bad posture we gain from our everyday lives. I will frequent prescribe certain exercises as a follow up to deep tissue work. I’ve been working with the team at MWA Health and Fitness for 10 years and they will get you stronger—safely—and meet you where you’re at. They will also incorporate a nutrition plan to help with your goals.”
